'FIRST' - The Wakefield District Development Agency

A new and exciting initiative dedicated to delivering the economic and social regeneration of the Wakefield District brings together a unique partnership of key public, voluntary and private sector partners to form 'first' the Development Agency for the Wakefield District.

The new Development Agency is a practically based, innovative solution to addressing local needs and responding to national and regional policies for change and improvement within the District. It will build on previous achievements and successful partnership working and following a consultation exercise in June 00, is currently reviewing suggestions on how it might develop policies and support in relation to investment, business support, education and lifelong learning, and community regeneration.
